Since the dawn of time, Polaris, the North Star, has been the guiding, grounding light for all travelers, explorers and adventurers. Ancient sojourners believed that not only was Polaris the "way home," but that home was, indeed, somewhere beyond Polaris. In the 21st Century, it is, more than ever, apparent that we who travel on this planet still have a need to find Basic North.
Apparently, all young things are curious about the world around them. This young Red-tailed Hawk swooped down over our van and flew ahead of us for several hundred feet before landing in a tree to have an even better look at us. He was just too beautiful not to stop and admire!
