Chinese Lantern Festival 2012

The Lantern Festival, is held on the fifteenth day of the Chinese Lunar New Year,
and marks the end of the New Year Spring Festival Celebration.

Sky Lanterns are released at the end of the Spring festival.
The lanterns float up into the heavens and carry wishes and prayers
for good fortune in the coming year.

Have you seen the Jack-in-the-Green?
With his long tail hanging down
He sits quietly under every tree
In the folds of his velvet gown.
He drinks from the empty acorn cup
The dew that Dawn sweetly bestows.
And taps his cane upon the ground
Signals the Snowdrops it's time to grow.
