At Long Last, September
Spring rain damps;
Autumn rain soaks.
Here is what I'm doing ... I'm sitting here contemplating dreary northern hemisphere autumn-on-set gray skies and a rainy day; the house is beginning to feel sorta damp and chilly, and I got the electric blanket out but the dogs are hogging it, and the space heater shuts off every time someone breathes on it, and I'm fighting the urge to turn the furnace on. This is the time I call this Mongolian hunter and his Golden Eagle up on my screen and meditate on him and his life. After a few minutes, I decide I can last one more day without heat. What I actually want is a yurt in the backyard, or even better, out in the north woods someplace - as long as I can have internet hook-ups I'm ok.
